Pet Portrait Image Guidelines
The image you upload is the most important part of your order and crucial to the quality of the final pet portrait. Let’s review the following guidelines to make sure your artwork is picture perfect:
- Take a photo or choose an existing photo taken in daylight or a brightly lit room
- Use a smartphone or high quality camera
- Avoid photos taken at night or in rooms with dark lighting
- Ensure your pet’s face and neck is visible in the image with minimal shadows
- Please avoid using any filters to ensure we can color your portrait correctly
- Ensure your pet’s face is not cut off or cropped out of the image
- Unless you have ordered a sketch portrait, we cannot accept black & white or scanned photos
- Make sure your pet is looking directly at the camera at eye level and facing forward. Other positions are allowed, however your pet will be shown in that position in the final portrait.
- Please note: Collars, leashes, bows, and other cute outfits will be illustrated in your final pet portrait. In some cases we are able to remove collars, tags and leashes (you can leave a note at checkout), however your pet should look the way you would like them to be painted.
