Yes. A real artist paints your portrait digitally, stroke by stroke from a blank canvas, in our watercolour, oil or sketch style. No AI and no filters. You'll get the time-lapse of your portrait being painted with the first look of your artwork, so you can see for yourself.
Do you use AI?
Not in your portrait. Every portrait is painted by a real artist from a blank canvas, and we don't use AI or filters to create, combine or finish it.
Is it painted on canvas?
No. Your portrait is printed on museum-quality paper and framed, printed on canvas, or sent as an unframed print. Watercolour, oil and sketch are the styles it comes in.
What styles can I choose?
Watercolour, oil or sketch, each painted digitally in our house style, so you know what you'll get. Favourite place portraits come in watercolour or oil.
What sizes and frames are there?
Sizes run from 8 × 10 to 24 × 36 in. Family, house and favourite place portraits are landscape, from 10 × 8 to 36 × 24 in.
Every size but the largest comes framed in Matt Black, White or Red Oak. From 12 × 16 in there's canvas, and the two middle sizes come as an unframed print (Poster Only). Framed portraits arrive ready to hang. The size guide shows each one.
Photos
Which photos work best?
Clear, well-lit photos where you can see each face. If you have more than one photo of someone, send them all. The photo guide shows examples.
My only photo is old or blurry. Can you still use it?
Send it. Your artist will look at it before they start and tell you honestly if the detail isn't there. We don't AI-enhance photos; a person works from what you send.
Can I send my photos later?
Yes. Place your order now and we'll email you a link to upload them.
Can you put people from different photos together?
Yes. Send a photo of each person and tell your artist how you'd like everyone arranged. They'll sketch everyone together first, so you can check who goes where, then paint the final portrait.
Can you add someone who has passed away?
Yes. Your artist paints them in with everyone else, from the photos you send, and can paint soft angel wings if you'd like. Nothing is final until it feels like them.
Ordering and paying
How does $0 Upfront work?
Choose $0 Upfront at checkout and nothing is charged for your portrait today. Your card is charged when you approve your portrait, or automatically when your 7-day review window closes.
We'll email you when your portrait is ready, remind you after 24 hours, and tell you two days before we charge your card. Your cart shows anything that's due today before you check out.
How do I add more people or pets?
Every portrait includes its main subjects: 3 people on a family portrait, the two of you on a couple or wedding portrait, one person or pet on a memorial or pet portrait, and the house or place itself on a house or favourite place portrait. Add each extra person or pet as you order and send a photo of each; you'll see the total before you check out.
What does Skip the Queue do?
Skip the Queue moves your portrait to the front of your artist's queue. It doesn't change courier speed.
Can I get a digital copy?
Yes. Every portrait is printed, and you can add a digital copy to get the file as well.
Your preview and changes
When will I see my portrait?
A sketch preview of your portrait arrives in 1–3 days, then the first look of your artwork, with the time-lapse, 1–3 days after you approve it. The sketch is where you check where everything sits and ask for changes, before your artist paints it. Once you approve your portrait, it's printed, framed and delivered in about 1–2 weeks.
How do I ask for changes?
Open your sketch, or later your finished portrait, from the email and choose Ask for changes. Tell your artist what you'd like different, and they'll send an updated version. You can ask for unlimited small changes; after you approve the sketch, up to 3 major changes are included.
What happens if I don't reply?
We'll remind you after 24 hours, and tell you two days before we charge your card. If we still don't hear from you, your portrait is approved automatically, and with $0 Upfront your card is charged when your 7-day review window closes.
Delivery and your order
How long does delivery take?
Once you approve your portrait, we print and frame it within 3 business days and send it on its way: 5–8 business days in Australia. Free shipping on every framed or canvas portrait, and on any other order over $150.
Where is my portrait printed?
In Australia. We print and frame it near you, so it doesn't cross a border on its way to you.

Can you send it straight to them?
Yes. Put their address at checkout and we'll send it to them, framed and ready to hang.
