About this portrait

A custom favourite place portrait, hand-painted digitally by a real artist from your photo, then printed and framed near you. Choose watercolour or oil, each painted in our house style.

The place you'll always go back to: the beach house, the honeymoon town, the view from the porch. Your artist paints it from your photos, stroke by stroke from a blank canvas. No AI. No filters.

Upload your photo when you order, or send it later. A sketch preview of your portrait arrives in 1–3 days, then the first look of your artwork, with the time-lapse, 1–3 days after you approve it. The sketch is your chance to ask for changes to the place before it's painted.

Add the place name, a date, or a line of your own below it.

Landscape sizes: 10 × 8, 16 × 12, 24 × 18 or 36 × 24 in. 10 × 8, 16 × 12 and 24 × 18 in come framed in Matt Black, White or Red Oak. From 16 × 12 in there's canvas, and 16 × 12 and 24 × 18 in come as an unframed print (Poster Only). Framed portraits arrive ready to hang.

Unlimited revisions until you love it, and a 100% money-back guarantee. Choose $0 Upfront and your card is charged when you approve your portrait, or automatically when your 7-day review window closes. Once you approve, it's printed, framed and delivered in about 1–2 weeks.

Questions about your portrait

How does $0 Upfront work?

Choose $0 Upfront at checkout and nothing is charged for your portrait today. Your card is charged when you approve your portrait, or automatically when your 7-day review window closes.

We'll email you when your portrait is ready, remind you after 24 hours, and tell you two days before we charge your card. Your cart shows anything that's due today before you check out.

Is it really painted by a person?

Yes. A real artist paints your portrait digitally, stroke by stroke from a blank canvas, in our watercolour, oil or sketch style. No AI and no filters. You'll get the time-lapse of your portrait being painted with the first look of your artwork, so you can see for yourself.

Do you use AI?

Not in your portrait. Your artist paints it from a blank canvas, and we don't use AI or filters to create, combine or finish it.

How long does it take?

A sketch preview of your portrait arrives in 1–3 days, then the first look of your artwork, with the time-lapse, 1–3 days after you approve it. The sketch is where you check where everything sits and ask for changes, before your artist paints it. Once you approve your portrait, it's printed, framed and delivered in about 1–2 weeks.

Which styles can I choose?

Watercolour or oil. Sketch isn't offered for favourite place portraits.

What kind of photo works?

Any photo that looks like the place to you. A clear, well-lit one works best, so send a few if you have them.

Customer photo review of Custom Favorite Place Portrait

The 2nd picture is the photo. I wanted to put my phot on a large canvas but given it was only taken on an iphone 12, it would have been too distorted. So, I turned it into a digital oil painting at 36x24in and am super happy how it has turned out. Really pleased I decided to do it.

Customer photo review of Custom Favorite Place Portrait

East Main Street in the small town where I have lived for 52 years is especially lovely in the fall due to beautiful maple trees that line the street. I sent a photo to Wellam & Co asking if they could do a watercolor for me. I am extremely pleased with the result.

Customer photo review of Custom Favorite Place Portrait

This photo does not do the painting justice. Love the painting and the service was great. They were fast and efficient in making the changes I asked for. The painting is a Christmas present for our grown and married daughter. She was born on Christmas Eve and we always had a lot of people over to celebrate the occasion.

Customer photo review of Custom Favorite Place Portrait

I love it, my husband loved it!! It was his Fathers Day gift❤️ His grandma passed away March 2022 his Dad April 2023 🥺 it’s been really hard for all of us but mostly him. He told me “I’ll never get to have a picture of all of us together” so when I scrolling on tik tok I saw the add and I was so amazed a little scared to order because with so many scams out there you never know. I took the risk anyway, they worked with me kept me updated which I loved!! A week 1/2 later I got the picture, I couldn’t be any happier with it. Thank you so much Welham & co you guys are amazing!

I ordered this picture as a gift. They loved it! They said they were “blown away” with how beautiful it was. My only complaint is that the personal message I wrote was not included so they didn’t know who sent it. Other than that, great experience. I’m already working on a second order! I highly recommend this company.
